A Season's Change

The littered ground slowly bubbles
Crunchy leaves defying gravity
Rising up from their fallen state
In an effort to meet me.

The garbled view so dimly perceived
My kaleidescope world seen through water
Spilling over the crested edge
In an effort to be free.

The relentless season silently implodes
Weathered acorn's shell splits open
Inviting its golden innards to exposure
In an effort to live again.
